Integrating decision-making

Prevailing systems of decision-making in many countires tend to separate economic, social and environmental factors at the policy, planning and management levels. This has important implications for the efficiency and sustainability of development. Decision-making needs to be integrated if environment and development are to be at the centre of economic and political decision-making in order to achieve a full integration of these factors.
