Improving children's playgrounds

Using a simulated head wired to a computer, research is being conducted into the impact-absorbing properties of various types of playground undersurfacing, such as lawn, bark chips, rubber mats and plastic tiles. Such 'soft-fall' material is designed to absorb some of the impact of fall, thereby reducing the chance of serious head injury.
