Gathering transport data

The United Nations Economic Commission for Europe gathers and publishes statistics on the rail, road and inland waterway transport sectors, container transport, goods loaded and unloaded in seaports, transport by oil pipeline and international goods transport by various modes and commodity group. Data is also kept on the length of transport networks, number, capacity and power of vehicles as well as expenditure on roads, the consumption of energy in transport and national regulations governing weights and dimensions of road vehicles.
