Expanding working capital availability
- Producing needed working capital
Implementation
Self-Employed Women's Association (SEWA) in India tackles the problem of borrowed working capital (paying high rate of interest) of microenterprises of the poor by providing a loan for the working capital at a lower rate of interest. The result is that there is an increase in real income because of difference in rate of interest, an expansion in business and thereby increase in actual income, and a portion of increased real and actual income being saved in SEWA Bank's personal savings account.
