Determining curriculum criteria
Description
Creating a comprehensive criteria rationale through which curriculum can be planned, easily evaluated and kept current.
Context
An integral part of grounding decisions historically to give a temporal and world-wide framework for the individual's decisional relationships to life.
Implementation
Tactics include: present needs to determine the existing educational patterns and the present need of the community to keep curriculum relevant; historical data to reveal the past educational patterns of the community to illuminate the present evaluational models; experiment evaluation to allow the evaluation to comprehensively determine which experiments would be helpful to a particular community; future trends to discern any shifts in the community which will demand curriculum changes; and criteria priorities to define aspects of the particular historical situation of the community which, at any given time, must be considered in prioritizing. An example is an existing criteria document through which curriculum is evaluated yearly before being re-used.
