Destroying drug plants
- Eradicating drug crops
Implementation
Governments in Colombia, Peru, Bolivia and other drug-producing countries use chemical herbicides to kill coca plants. However, farmers usually simply move to different areas and plant new crops.
Counter-claim
The forced eradication programme leads to deforestation and more migration, displacing people even deeper into the Amazon.
