Convening international meetings on priority biotechnology issues

Implementation

This strategy features in the framework of Agenda 21 as formulated at UNCED (Rio de Janeiro, 1992), now coordinated by the United Nations Commission on Sustainable Development and implemented through national and local authorities.

Agenda 21 recommends organizing workshops, symposia, seminars and other exchanges on specific priority themes among the scientific community at the regional and global level, making full use of existing scientific and technological manpower in each country for bringing about such exchanges.
