Considering NGO reports and findings in governmental policy-making

Implementation

This strategy features in the framework of Agenda 21 as formulated at UNCED (Rio de Janeiro, 1992), now coordinated by the United Nations Commission on Sustainable Development and implemented through national and local authorities.

Agenda 21 recommends establishing or enhancing an existing dialogue with non-governmental organizations and their self-organized networks representing various sectors, which could serve, inter alia, to channel integrated non-governmental input efficiently into the governmental policy development process.
