Being humble

  • Humbling oneself
  • Offering adequate humility
  • Providing sufficient humility
  • Practising humility

Claim

The beginning of Christian perfection stems from humility. "Learn from Me, for I am meek and humble of heart". The consideration of the high dignity to which we are called by Baptism and Holy Orders and the knowledge of our own spiritual need ought to induce us to meditate on the words of Christ: "Without Me you can do nothing". (Papal Writings, Menti Nostrae, 23 September 1960).
