Implementation
The member governments of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe agreed Code of Practice in order to conserve wild animals and plants and to contribute to the maintenance of biological diversity in the UN/ECE region and worldwide. The Code covers conservation priorities and measures including legislation, institutional arrangements, research requirements, education and training and public awareness. Indicative lists of birds and of mammals with a significant proportion of their global population and range in Europe are annexed.
