Administering social consensus

On the whole, East Asians prefer consensus over contention. They believe that the rights of the individual must be balanced by the rights of the family and society, that the family is the building block of society, that education is important and that frugality is virtuous. They have faith in the work ethic, in national teamwork and in communitarianism.
