Trafficking in children for sexual exploitation

Nature

The types of sale and trafficking include: (a) procurers and criminal organizations sell children to brothels either in the same country or abroad; (b) procurers and criminal organizations supply children to clients; (c) individual paedophiles acquire children for their own use; (d) paedophilic organizations acquire children for their members.

In 2023, Deutsche Bank agreed to pay $75 million to settle a lawsuit claiming the bank played a key role in facilitating Jeffrey Epstein’s sex trafficking ring to successfully rape, sexually assault and coerce the movement of girls and young women. The "Jane Doe" plaintiff alleged that Deutsche Bank did business with Epstein for five years, knowing that he was using his funds to support his abusive regime between 2003 and 2016.
