Torture by exposure to weather

Exposure to various weather conditions is used as a form of torture. Some victims have their arms and legs bound and are left exposed to the hot sun for prolonged periods or forced to stand in the rain for days. Some are left out in the cold at night.

Torture by exposure to weather has been reported in the following countries: (Africa) Mali, Morocco, Zaire; (America) Colombia, Uruguay; (Asia) Israel.
