Incidence
Ovis amon nigrimontana is endemic to Kazakhstan. 200 individuals are left. Hunting trips targeting O. a. nigrimontana have been offered in the USA and in Turkey for about US$40 000 each.
The IUCN considers O. a. nigrimontana as "Critically Endangered", and it is listed by CITES as "Appendix I".
