Background

Falco deiroleucus can be found throughout South America through to Mexico, except Chile. It may be eradicated from Costa Rica.

Incidence

Falco deiroleucus is listed as "Lower Risk" but "near threatened" species by the IUCN Red List. CITES lists the species as "Appendix 2".
