Subjectivism

Nature

Subjectivism is a world view that holds emotions, intuitions, aesthetic sensibilities, moral practices and spiritual awareness as being the basis for understanding. The concomitant abstraction of thought leads ultimately to a divorce from reality, subjective blindness, agnosticism, and relativism. In the political arena, subjectivism is reflected in policy decisions based on arbitrary, unscientific principles; contempt of the laws of society; and belief in the omnipotence of administrative decisions.

Claim

Radical subjectivism allows the denial of inconvenient facts by denying the reality of fact itself, or of truth. Certainty and piety of all kinds are systematically undermined in favour of a universal relativism of values and judgement. Having abandoned a reliable definition of reality, those who wish to change the present organization of society have left themselves with no ground to stand on. Protestors may believe in the possibility of describing real grievances in a way that could convince a large public. But if grievances are as subjective as anything else, any such possibility is an illusion.
