Social fragmentation through political pluralism

Political pluralism may lead to alienation if an individual cannot satisfactorily identify with a group. It may sharpen existing social tension if political groups are based on social division, including racial, religious, class and other differences. Vested interest groups may foster delays in political decision-making.
