Of a 1993 sample of 3,000 British unemployed, 45% spent 4 hours a days looking for work and 24% up to 8 hours. Around 85% were prepared to relocate in the UK and seventy percent were confident that they would eventually find work but, if they did not, 68% said they would consider emigrating.
