Nature

Lupus vulgaris, the commonest form of cutaneous tuberculosis, occurs in previously sensitized individuals in whom the immune system is impaired. A typical feature of lupus vulgaris is its extremely chronic course and plaque type dermatoses. The lesions sometimes ulcerate producing scars. The diagnosis is often missed.
