Futility of social loyalties

Nature

There is a certain hypocrisy in the present day social process, in which society either appears unresponsive to desperate need and/or it limits human rights. People have sought and sometimes realized in their society a sense of necessary order, protection of individual rights and participation in genuine community. In the absence of such a community there arises the question: 'Why be a loyal citizen in a society that you can't depend on'.
