Some scientists from all of the disciplines invent data to meet expectation from the experiments being conducted. Rigorous checks are used by most scientific establishments to prevent the accidental creation of false data. Some individuals and organizations deliberately forge data for the sake of money or prestige.

Incidence

Recent research has demonstrated, for example, that Kepler in 1609 fabricated astronomical data in presenting his theory of how the planets move around the sun.
