Endangered species of Emoia nativitatis
- Extinct species of Christmas Island forest-skink
Nature
The Christmas Island forest-skink was downgraded from "critically endangered" to "extinct in the wild" in a 2017 report by the International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN). Scientists tried in vain to establish a captive breeding programme for the forest skink but it has now been declared extinct in the wild.
