Bear-baiting

Nature

Bears are dragged into bloody arenas to face pairs of cross-bred bull terriers. Their teeth have been ripped out and their claws blunted, so they are at the mercy of the dogs' vicious teeth.

Incidence

It was reported in 1997 that over 2,000 bear-baitings took place each year in Pakistan, despite the fact that they were banned by law.

Claim

Trainers won't let the bears to be killed, but the animals do not know this. Over and over again, they are fighting for their lives.
