Virginity

Description

This state of innocence as regards sexual intercourse is extended in Biblical terms to refer to the proper state of one about to be married - a moral quality of sexual purity as opposed to the physical state of virgo intacta. It implies that body and soul are such that their forces may be dedicated in obedience to God directly through "taking the veil", or reserved for fulfilment in marriage.
