Universal human nature
Description
Meister Eckhart uses this term to describe the loftiest and truest things that humanity has in common, that which unites us at the highest level. Essentially capable of union with God, we are most human and most one with each other when we are detached from self and from creatures, totally humble and receptive, open to God. In the soul's ground we are what we were created for. If it is not seen so it is because we live our lives at the subhuman level - what we see as normal is actually abnormality and sickness.
