Unification of energy (Taoism)

During this stage the natural fire of reality operates to burn away residual conditioning in order to recover the state in which there is no discriminatory knowledge. This is frequently symbolized by the "pregnancy" of the practitioner with a spiritual "embryo" that becomes imbued with spiritual energy. Both things and self are experienced as empty. There is a sublimation of the duality of firmness and flexibility. In this state of absence of discrimination or knowledge, the spirit is unified, objects disappear. It is a profound trance without differentiation, entering from doing into not-doing. The term "embryo" is used to describe true awareness become solidified, stabilized and free from habitual scattering.

The sixth of seven stages of the Taoist alchemical firing process through which reality is cultivated and the self is restored.
