Ultimate accomplishment (Taoism)

  • Perfect attainment

Description

Following attainment of Tao, which results in the creation of a spiritual body outside the physical body, the practitioner is physically and mentally sublimated. The task that then emerges is that of storing the spiritual body and secretly developing spiritual powers. The spiritual body is then becomes the vehicle through which transmutation spontaneously occurs, progressively increasing its degree of openness. Although nothing then exists, the spiritual body transmutes in countless ways. There is a complete cessation of effort. Using the metaphor of birth employed in the alchemical process, this state is symbolized by the child producing children and grandchildren, who in their turn produce offspring.
