Subjective domains of consciousness (Yoga)
- Three worlds
Description
Material forms produced by actions are the first domain of subjective consciousness; the subtle world of forms produced by emotions is the second domain; and the incorporeal world of forms produced by thoughts is is the third. The second and third domains are as subjectively real as the world around us. Experience of any of the three as the one and unique reality is due, according to yogic philosophy, to engagement of only the lower levels of mind (manas) and to the inaction of the higher faculties (buddhi, etc).
