Spiritual materialism

Description

A fundamental distortion caused when spiritual techniques serve only to strengthen egocentricity although the individual believes himself to be following a spiritual path. It is caused by intellectual rationalization of knowledge and experience; and the inability to surrender hopes, expectations and fears in order to open one's self to reality.
