Shalom

  • Kingdom of God

Description

When the whole of life is in right relationship with God, with others and with the creation then that state has been described as shalom. This encompasses security for every part of creation, justice and love infusing every relationship. The result is not a static, non-evolving situation but one in which all situations are transformed, possessiveness becoming a willing sharing of resources, the power to dominate becoming the power to heal, estrangement becoming shared trust and confidence. The kingdom or realm of God, shalom, is said to be inherent to creation and available in all situations. The term [metanoia]

is used to describe the transforming of a situation so that the realm of God is manifest, the aim being the restoration of integrity - wholeness - oneness.
