couples. The unity of the person is also seen in the right (male) and left (female) sides of the body. This concept is common to many systems which emphasize integration through development of the less developed, weaker, female and unconscious aspects of the personality. The Hindu male deities are invariably accompanied by their female counterparts (the "forces" of the "forceful"), and there are also the familiar symbols such as yin and yang, lingam and yoni, Yab-Yum, which demonstrate the same concept.
