Description

This state of awareness is characterized by dispassionate action. It is represented by the second-stage bodhisattva who no longer produces karmic-stains by any action taken whatsoever in furtherance of the dharma. For this reason, his stage is called [immaculate]

(vimala). He practises meditation and concentration - [dhyana]

and [samadhi]

- and is perfect in observing moral precepts - [sila]

- the second of the meritorious deeds.

Context

According to Tibetan Gelugpa Buddhism, the second level on the path appropriate to those working for the salvation of all, leading to Buddhahood and the ultimate consciousness. In Tibetan Sakya Buddhism this is one of the states in the "Ascension Stages Game". In some sets it is numbered 80 on the board.
