Description
During the month of Ramadan, all men and all women not bleeding from menstruation or childbirth keep a fast which, between the hours of sunrise and sunset, requires no eating or drinking, no intentional vomiting, and sexual abstinence. Talk should not be indecent or slandrous and there should be no gossip. Despite the regulatory nature of the fast it is in fact an act of personal piety.
