Reverence
Description
An attitude of reverence, of respectful attentiveness to the divine, transforms and intensifies any action, however simple, whether eating, drinking or any everyday activity. It invokes a sense of oneness with the whole universe. Such reverence allows the development of a sense of awe and wonder and a recognition of the mystery of creation. Although implying the idea of "fear", such fear is not for personal safety but, in conjunction with honour, expresses reverence for God and for that which derives its function from God.
