Resting in God (Christianity)
Description
In the process of centering one uses attention on a holy word to keep the attention from wandering to passing thoughts. However, during the exercice of centering there may be an experience of such deep interior stillness that the word disappears and there are no thoughts. This inner silence is beyond thinking, images and emotions. Time passes without one being aware of it. There is an awareness that the core of being is indestructible, of being loved by God and sharing in his divine life.
