Re-evaluation counselling
- Co-counselling
- Counselling
Description
A derivative of [client-centred therapy]
, re-evaluation counselling enables counsel to be given and received by peers. Groups meet at regular intervals in pairs, each member of the pair giving full attention one to the other for about one hour each. Encouraged by the acceptance of the other member of the pair, the individual uses the experience as an outlet for accumulated frustrations, tensions and blocked emotions. The technique has been extended in marriage counselling, where the couple may become a "pair", each co-counselling the other, listening with attention and without interruption to what the other has to say.
