Purgatory (Lila)

  • Narka-loka

Description

Here the player, who has attained freedom of action and is responsible for the fruits of his actions, bears the consequences of his acts. Having made his way through these levels of the narkas the player is then ready to pass on to heaven. Although painful, arising from bad karma or from violence, this is not a punishment but rather a means of purification. The player at this level recognizes that this is not a failure of the personal ego but sees the imperfections of his activities and the need to improve.

Context

The 35th state or square on the board of Lila, the game of knowledge, appearing in the fourth row.
