Private revelation
Description
Revelation to the individual does not require faith from the church nor is it necessarily preserved or expounded by the church. It is for the guidance and salvation of the individual to whom it is revealed, although care must be taken not to confuse it with subjective fantasy or sudden manifestations of the subconscious. Again, although the revelation is genuine it may be distorted or misrepresented by the recipient. However, such a revelation may give a prophetic mission, providing the impetus for action according to the changing circumstances of the church in fidelity with the unchanging gospel.
