Primal therapy

  • Primal scream

Description

After a period of isolation to weaken the defence mechanisms, the individual is lead by the therapist to relive the experience of a key scene in his life. This taps the repressed pain of not being understood and loved by one's parents and can be an experience of intense aloneness when the individual cries out in a [primal scream]

. Feelings are de-anaesthetized so that it becomes possible to experience the full range of human emotions. The therapy assists in freeing the individual from mental or behavioural disorders.
