Planes of wisdom (Hinduism)
Description
As enumerated in the Supreme Yoga, there are seven states, ascending steps or planes of wisdom to be known so as not to be caught in delusion. These are contrasted with seven descending steps of ignorance or delusions that veil [self-knowledge]
. Ignorance leads to total inert dullness resembling sleep, while wisdom leads to liberation beyond happiness and unhappiness. Even beyond the seventh plane of wisdom is a state - turiyatita - where the body is transcended.
