Physical appearance

  • Aesthetic surgery
  • Cosmetic surgery
  • Reconstructive surgery

Description

Physical deformities have a great effect on the psychological state of the people suffering from them. Aesthetic surgery to alter the shape of the nose, remove unwanted deposits of fat, enlarge breasts, reduce double chins, can change the person's whole attitude, giving self confidence and an improved ability to deal with life. Similar techniques are used in cosmetic as in reconstructive surgery, when people suffering the after-effects of accidents (burns, for example) are treated surgically to heal and then disguise the effects of their injuries.
