Phenomenon of presence (Christianity)
Description
This occurs in the sensation of plural separate realities in space and time experienced in a certain aspect as unity. Theologically, there are: (1) The mutual presence in transcendental unity of the divine persons in God; God's presence in the created world; the presence of God in man by self-communication. (2) Categorical unity, as between persons united in knowledge and love. (3) Based on the unity of space, the presence of entities in space. (4) Sacramental presence, as of the body of Christ in the Eucharist.
