Perceptual expansion

This has been postulated (Arthur J Deikman) as an explanation of some of the perceptions associated with the mystic experience. Undoing of the psychic structure through deautomatization allows increased detail and sensation to be experienced under increased attention. It may include awareness of added dimensions to the total stimulus array which would be defined as perceptual expansion.
