Pacifying in mental abiding states (Buddhism)
- Shamana
- Zhi-bar-byed-pa (Tibetan)
Description
In this state the mind, revivified in the preceding condition, is subtly excited. It is stilled and made calm with the aid of the power of introspection which is matured on this level, so that such subtle excitement is less frequent; there is little danger now that subtle laxity will arise.
Context
This is the sixth of the nine states of mental abiding (navakara chittasthiti) in Gelugpa Tibetan Buddhism.
