Neurotic love
Description
Neurotic attachments endeavour to satisfy a real need, but not the same need of those experiencing mutual, reciprocal love. Typically they may be based on dependency needs or on fear of being alone. This form of love may be considered as arising from a defect in the integration of the self, thus constituting a misguided remedy for a deficiency in self-love.
