Mutable awareness (Astrology)

Gemini and Sagittarius, Virgo and Pisces unite in the mutable or common cross, the awareness with which the individual is first incarnated. Consciousness awakes as to the goal ahead and he must then serve out his time until he overcomes his selfishness in the desire to serve others, and his changeability and duality in singleness of purpose. As his personality develops he is no longer bound to the wheel of incarnation. Planetary awareness is brought about and he comes under the influence of the next quadruplicity, the fixed cross.

One of the three zodiacal quadruplicities or crosses, uniting four signs of the zodiac in two pairs of opposites or polarities which are strongly linked and between which the influenced individual tends to oscillate, all four signs having much in common.
