Metaphysical language

Description

Languages originally developed in societies where the sacred was lived and breathed as an essential and integral part of life. It is therefore full of symbolism so that metaphysics is embedded in its very heart. Despite the efforts of analytical philosophy to annihilate this aspect of language by reducing language to one (materialistic) dimension, many authors are concerned with etymology and an awareness of the root meaning of words so that the reader is enriched spiritually. A study of ancient languages in which spiritual truths have been formulated - for example sanskrit - reveals immense depths of metaphysical meaning as an integral part of the language structure.
