Meditative reading

Description

According to Madame Guyon, this is one means of being led into the highest forms of prayer. The other is meditation. In meditative reading, a doctrinal or practical truth is read, two or three lines at a time, remaining on each short passage and seeking to enter the full meaning of the words for as long one finds satisfaction in it, before going on to the next passage.
