Lust (Hinduism)

  • Kamachanda
  • Raga

Description

Whereas kama is desire in the general sense, kamachanda refers to sexual desire or lust. It is the craving for union of man and women with each other. The yearning for sexual union is an instinctive desire due to false identification of the self with the body. Craving for union with a member of the opposite sex is also called raga.
