Laying on of hands (Christianity)

This is used in the Christian faith as a symbolic transfer of the power of the Holy Spirit, whether in healing ceremonies or as a transfer in spiritual power (as in the ordination of Church leaders), or in the service of confirmation on receiving the gift of the Holy Spirit as a confirmed member of the Church.
